How many dogs per walk ?

4 dogs (max) per dog walker as dogs are always on long leads

How are dogs transported?

Dogs are transported safely and separately using secure crates and safety restraints, with comfy mats for safe and stress-free travel.

How long are dogs out for?

Nature hikes go for 1.5 hours of walking/sniffing time on location. Including travel dogs are usually out of the house for 2.5 - 3 hours.

Do you pick dogs up from home?

Yes — pickup and drop-off are included within our service areas, making the experience simple and stress-free for both dogs and owners.

Which areas do you service?

We currently service the southern Gold Coast. Palm Beach, Elanora, Currumbin, Currumbin Waters, Burleigh Waters, Burleigh Heads, and surrounding suburbs.

Nature hikes provide dogs with far more mental stimulation, enrichment, and sensory engagement than standard suburban walks. Exploring natural environments helps dogs feel calmer, happier, more fulfilled, and more balanced overall.

What makes nature hikes different from normal dog walks?

Are dogs kept on leash?

Yes — all dogs remain on long leads during hikes, allowing them to safely explore, sniff, socialise, and enjoy nature adventures while staying calm and fully supervised.

How much does it cost?

Each nature hike is $90 inc GST, covering everything from pickup to a happy, fulfilled dog at drop-off.

Are you insured?

Yes — Gold Coast Dog Hikes is fully insured through MGA Pet Industry Insurance, with $20M public liability coverage for added peace of mind.

I’m Ben, the founder of Gold Coast Dog Hikes.

I grew up on a farm surrounded by dogs, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. Being around them taught me patience, awareness, and how important the right environment is for a dog’s wellbeing.

I spend a lot of my time outdoors and value a slower, more intentional approach — both in life and in how I work with dogs. I pay attention to each dog’s personality and treat them with the same care I would my own.

For me, it’s simple — dogs deserve to feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for.
